Thinking about outsourcing your IT functions? Who are you going with? Dozens of options can make it a tough choice, which is why I’m going to talk about a few of them. But before I do, thank goodness for resources like Supply Chain Digital, who ranked their top 10 for their February edition. Here’s the list:
- Accenture
- IBM
- Wipro Technologies
- ACS—Affiliated Computer Services
- Sodexo
- Colliers International
- CSC—Computer Sciences Corporation
- Infosys Technologies
- ISS
- Capgemini

Accenture and IBM
I can’t disagree at all with their top two. Dublin-based Accenture is the IT outsourcing company for 75% of the Fortune Global 500. They have offices in 200 international cities, the ability to provide infrastructure services at any level, and annual revenues in excess of $20 billion. No one else even comes close.
As for IBM, they’ve earned second place through many years of being a trusted global technology supplier. But what I like most, and this is something that Supply Chain Digital agrees with, is the fact that they go out other way to make sure outsourcing is right for you. Unlike some others, they don’t sign new clients just to increase cash flow.
Infosys Technologies
Infosys by Topnews
The top 10 list has Infosys Technologies in the number eight slot. I’d raise them at the least to number three, if for no other reason than the fact that they made something huge out of virtually nothing. This company started in 1981 when the IT industry was still in its infancy, and has built it into a $5 billion a year enterprise. Impressive.
Wipro Technologies
Wipro takes the number four slot for me. What gives them an edge is their ability to tackle anything from a single IT service all the way up to a complete outsourcing solution. Where other companies make IT infrastructure part of a long list of services, Wipro specializes in it.
